Road
Access Description:
Moffat
County is at the crossroads of US Highway 40 and SH 13. US 40 is an
east/west route running from Denver to Salt Lake City. SH 13 is a
north/south route connecting Moffat County to Interstate 70 and Interstate
80. I-70 is 90 miles to the south of Craig and I-80 is 90 miles to
the north of Craig.
Yampa
Valley Regional Airport is 20 miles east of Craig. The Airport provides
year-round flights. Winter month scheduling includes non-stop flights
from several hub airports while summer period flights are serviced
by an express airline from Denver. During the winter months, December
through the first week in April, services include non-stop jet flights
from Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Minneapolis and Denver with weekend
service from Newark.
The
Denver International Airport is 210 miles from Craig.
Union
Pacific Railroad operates rail lines from Craig East to the Denver
area. Commercial Rail service is available.
Telecommunication
Options:
The
Yampa Valley Economic Development Council and Rio Blanco County were
successful in obtaining $1.375 million in grant funds from the State
of Colorado to provide high-speed telecommunication connections to
the region. Service will be available in the fall of 2002. Options
will include T1, ISDN, and DSL. In addition, there are a number of
Internet Service Providers, both wireless and phone lines.
