The
Grand Junction metro area is the hub of telecommunications and transportation
for the western slope of Colorado and eastern Utah. Its geographic
location between Denver and Salt Lake City makes it a natural epicenter
for being connected.
ROAD
Situated
on Interstate Highway I-70, approximately 260 miles from Denver, Colorado
and Salt Lake City, Utah, companies have easy access to all areas
in the west.
AIR
Mesa
County's largest community, Grand Junction, is home to Walker Field
Airport, a regional airport serving western Colorado. Walker Field
is a modern all weather airport and congestion and weather related
delays, common in major urban areas, are rare, the airport having
only ever closed 1 hour per year on average for the last 28 years.
Air Service is provided by America West Express, Skywest/Delta Connection
and United Express serving Salt Lake City, Phoenix and Denver with
approximately 17 daily direct flights.
RAIL
Mesa
County is serviced by Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific
railroads. There are many industrial sites, with railroad sidings
or access.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS
The
Grand Junction area is LATA Tandem for Western Colorado, meaning that
it is the hub of the telecommunications infrastructure. Extensive
services are therefore available, including broadband, ISDN, DSL,
fiber and cable.
