| EDUCATION DESCRIPTION |
| The Grand Junction area provides quality education for a steady flow of new work force entrants, as well as providing opportunities for continuing education and customized training for existing area employees and businesses. Schools in Mesa County are administered by the Mesa County Valley School District 51, one of the finest districts in the state. The Grand Junction area is home to the renowned four year Mesa State College, which has a long and established tradition and commitment to high quality undergraduate education. The college continues to build on its success and now offers many degree programs including an MBA and MPA and is the fastest growing four year educational institution in the state.
UTEC, the School of Applied Technology, was formed in 1992 as a partnership between School District #51, Mesa State College, and local businesses. One-year certificate and two-year associate degree programs in technical professions are offered and many UTEC students are placed in internships with area businesses, providing hands-on education. Additional institutions include the Colorado Christian University and Intellitec College, a technical trades school.
