DESCRIPTION:
Pagosa
Springs has two family medical clinics staffed by MDs and Nurse
Practitioners. The Dr. Mary Fisher Medical and Urgent Care Center
operates as a family medical clinic and an urgent care center. The
Pagosa Springs Family Medical Center is headed by Dr. Jim Pruitt.
During regular hours, staff from both clinics are available for
immediate care, and after hours access is through 911. A helipad
means that emergency airlifts are readily available.
Serious
emergencies are transported by ambulance or helicopter to Mercy
Medical Center in Durango or San Juan Regional Hospital in Farmington,
New Mexico. Mercy Medical Center has been recognized as the number
one rural hospital in Colorado and is the regional trauma center
for Southwestern Colorado.
