Archuleta County Infrastructure

The year-round climate of Archuleta County is ideal and creates no major traveling problems.

ROAD

Pagosa Springs is serviced by two U.S. highways—U.S. Highway 160 to the east and west and Highway 84 to the south. Durango is 61 miles west on Highway 160, Santa Fe is 163 miles south on Highway 84, Albuquerque is 212 miles south, and Denver is 270 miles northeast across Wolf Creek Pass.

AIR

Commercial air service is available at La Plata Airport (970-247-8143) in Durango, with service to Denver and Phoenix. Smaller privately owned aircraft can access Stevens Field in Pagosa Springs (970-731-2179). Stevens Field, located 1 mile north of U.S. Highway 160, has a 6,500 foot long runway and is a full-service general aviation airport.
